Newborn session information that will help you be more prepared for your session.

When is the best time to book a newborn session?

The best time to book your newborn session is when you find out you are expecting. This will allow for plenty of time to figure out if you want to add on a maternity session before we do your newborn session. A maternity session is normally photographed around 30 weeks. This timing allows for your baby bump to be nice and prominent in the photos. Your newborn session will be scheduled for a tentative date within those first two weeks you bring your baby home.

How old should your baby be for the session?

We will have scheduled a tentative date for your newborn session based on your predicted delivery date. If your baby comes earlier or later we can move the session date. Newborn sessions are best scheduled within those first two weeks you bring your baby home. This allows for a more sleepy baby for the session. During this time your baby will be more likely to eat and sleep making it easier to curl him/her into cute little positions. All the newborn sessions are done in the comfort of your own home. I will bring everything for the newborn session to you.

Who can be involved in the session?

This is a special time for your family you are either welcoming your first child or adding to your growing family. Photos with your new baby will be a memory you will want to look back on. I realize not everyone is comfortable in front of the camera but I will bring out your inner model. Don’t let your fear of being photographed stop you from capturing these memories for your baby.

How long is the session?

A newborn session will range between 2-4 hours. This time period will really depend on your baby and how many times we need to stop for feedings/diaper changes. I am very happy to take breaks when your baby needs one. We will work around how your baby is feeling. No need to be concerned.

Once you reach out you will receive an email and text from me with more information on the session. You will be sent my newborn collection guide which will describe in more detail how the session will go and the collections I offer. Once you decide on a collection we will nail down a tentative date for the session an invoice will be sent to your email. I will then email you a prep guide and questionnaire. This questionnaire will help me make your newborn session unique to your family. I am always happy to answer any questions you will have.

What happens after the session?

Roughly two weeks after the session you will receive a link to a private online gallery containing your images.
