Welcome to the world Luca Luna

Each and every in-home newborn photography session is special in it’s own way. However, there is something extra special about being able to photograph one of my best friends baby. I met this beautiful mama back in our college days, I stood by her as she married the man of her dreams, I photographed her journey into motherhood, and now I was honored to photograph her baby Luca.

Meeting Luca was a surreal experience. It was a moment that always seemed so far in the future but yet it’s here. Time has a way of creeping up on you when you least expect it. One night we were just kids hanging out eating fries with our McFlurries and now I’m looking down at this beautiful little boy she created.

Newborn Photography Session

I arrived at the Luna house early in the morning. Luca was laying on the bed with a blanket around him and basking in the sunlight streaming in from the window. Brianna (Mom) looked radiant, she was just glowing. I am sure she probably was exhausted but she didn’t let it show.

I love photographing families in the bedroom, there is something so pure and beautiful about creating a photo in a space they are spending the most time with their newborn.

Robert (Dad) arrived a little later and brought with him such a happy energy. He was so excited for the session, and I love when a dad is excited to have photos taken.

I positioned the new parents together on their bed with Luca and I could just feel the love coming off of these two. The way they looked at each other, how they snuggled together and looked down at this beautiful boy was a moment I feel cherished to have captured.

A Special Photo

At Brianna and Robert’s wedding they stood on a beautiful circular rug as they recited their vows to one another. During our session we were able to use that same rug with Luca. I love how this rug was at the start of their journey into marriage and now it is at the start of their journey to parenthood.
